Lakeside Bank honors young artists

Lakeside Bank honored the winners of its annual Holiday Card Art Contest at a special awards ceremony recently at Lakeside's UIC/Near West branch, located at 1055 W. Roosevelt Rd.

The winners were: third grade, Katie Hur, age 8, Lyman A. Budlong School; and fourth grade, Amanda Tam, age 9, Walt Disney Magnet School.

Third and fourth graders from Chicago Public Schools who are bank customers were invited to participate. Each winner’s drawing is featured on more than 500 holiday cards sent to Lakeside Bank customers and employees.

During the ceremony, Lakeside Bank President Raymond Spaeth gave each winner a bicycle, a plaque featuring her drawing, a $200 savings bond, $100 to open a savings account, and a backpack full of goodies. Each school also received a $200 gift certificate for Michael's Art and Craft Store.

"We are thrilled to have over 50 Chicago Public Schools as bank customers," Spaeth said. "This contest is one way to show our appreciation and highlight the artistic talents of the students."

Lakeside Bank runs six branches in the area. For more information, log on to www.lakesidebank.com.
