student Armand Rhone was named the Tony Lawless Award winner in track and

Five DLS students were named to the 2008 All-Girls Catholic Athletic Conference (GCAC) softball team: senior first baseman Nicole Gorman, sophomore shortstop Alexandra Hanes, sophomore catcher Nicole Ortiz, sophomore pitcher Jackie Sernek, and freshman third baseman Jaicie Botica. UIC associate professor Pauline Maki has presented findings from her study that reveal women in midlife underreport the number of hot flashes they experience by more than 40% and that such flashes are linked to poor verbal memory.

Sharpe, 2008), which explores the value of the “emotional labor” that emergency dispatchers, caseworkers, and other public service workers perform and compares it to mental and physical labor in the workplace.

Bethany Elkington, a third-year doctoral student in medicinal chemistry and
