NEW Fox News articles can now be heard on audio! According to local Fox32, a 13-year-old boy was killed after he and several other people allegedly attempted to break into a parked car. However, the owner arrived just in time to prevent a fatal clash, according to authorities.

Dion Young, a young boy, was one of “four to five” individuals, according to law enforcement sources, who attempted to break into a car parked in Woodlawn on Chicago’s South Side. The owner of the automobile, a 30-year-old woman with a permit to carry a concealed weapon, then showed up.

Police said that one of the men brandished a gun when the woman confronted the group. She then reached for one of her own weapons, pressing the trigger.

According to investigators, Young had a gunshot wound to the neck. He passed away on Tuesday afternoon after being transferred to Comer Children’s Hospital.
Police said that the other individuals had left the area and that no weapons had been found.
Detectives are still looking into the matter, according to the police.
