After Season 40 of Wheel of Fortune, Pat Sajak says he might leave: End is nigh

According to “Entertainment Tonight,” the game show host of more than 40 years intimated that the “end is approaching” and that he’s ready for one last round.

“Years pass quickly. The end is almost here. It’s been quite some time. This won’t be done for another 40 years. The time has come, “a TV icon was present.

“It’s an honor to have spent so much time in people’s living rooms. There were people greeting us outside. We are content and proud.”

Sajak began hosting “Wheel of Fortune” in 1981 after it had its broadcast debut in 1975. In 1982, co-host Vanna White joined Sajak.

A game show host of more than 40 years, Pat Sajak said the "end is near," as he hinted hes ready for one last spin on "Wheel of Fortune."

White is known for turning the letters during the game show as contestants attempt to solve the riddle or puzzle.

Sajak and White have both renewed their contracts with the show through the 2023-24 season.

"Wheel of Fortune" premiered in 1975. Pat Sajak started hosting it in 1981, while co-host Vanna White joined in 1982.

“In most television shows by this time, you would have said, ‘Thats probably enough,’ but this show will not die,” Sajak remarked.

“It appears I may go before the show,” he joked.
