During 50 individuals were shot over the course of the last weekend in Chicago, including a 14-year-old boy on a playground and three gang-affiliated males who were slain during a drag racing incident involving roughly 100 cars, according to authorities on Monday.
According to Chicago police, the violence took place between Friday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 11:59 p.m.
There were a total of 51 shooting victims, at least eight of them were minors, and 43 shooting occurrences. Police reported that of the 11 recorded killings, 10 were fatal gunshot wounds and one was a deadly stabbing.
Three Hispanic men were among those killed by gunfire during a street racing and drifting event that happened just before 4 a.m. on Sunday in the 4300 block of South Kedzie. At least 13 shots were fired, according to the police, and a caravan of approximately 100 cars had taken control of the crossing.

According to the police, all three of the murdered males, who were described as being between the ages of 15 and 20, belonged to gangs. Two additional Hispanic men were shot as well and are still in serious condition.
Over the weekend, there were at least eight shooting victims who were children.
A grazing cut to the face was sustained by a 14-year-old boy on a playground in the 4400 block of West Wilcox on Saturday shortly after 7 o’clock. He was transported in good condition to Stroger Hospital.
A 16-year-old man was shot in the back while standing outside in the 1200 block of South Fairfield an hour later, and he died as a result. After getting out of a dark car, two unidentified male criminals started firing at the victim. He was taken to a hospital right away, where he passed away.
Additionally nearby, a 13-year-old girl was struck twice on the neck. She was transported in good condition to Stroger Hospital.
Around 8:35 p.m. on Friday, a 12-year-old child was shot in the chest while walking on the sidewalk in the 900 block of South Albany and was in critical condition.
A 17-year-old girl shot in the hand while walking on a South Side sidewalk, a 15-year-old boy shot in the foot, and another 15-year-old kid shot multiple times just before 7 a.m. Saturday were among the other youngsters injured in shootings.
