Sen. Tommy Tuberville, a Republican from Alabama, offered a distinctive perspective on China’s escalating conflict with Taiwan during an interview on “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” on Thursday. He claimed that bringing the Democratic and Republican parties together is the key to securing America’s national defense.
Sen. Tommy Tuberville: We can’t proceed in this manner. I acquired knowledge while working as a coach for 40 years in the past. To succeed, you must be well-organized. In terms of everyone being on the same page, we lack organization. Democrats and Republicans, the economy, and other issues should all be causing us trouble now and will continue to do so. However, when it comes to national defense, everyone must agree. The Democrats and Republicans must agree to this. The most partisan committee I can see up here is the Armed Services Committee. Together, we perform well. We are aware of the issues.
We are aware of the requirements for success in the military. The White House, on the other hand, frequently speaks out of both sides of its mouth. There are a few other Democrats that are acting similarly to you. We must come together as one. And if we don’t work together against a well-funded adversary like China, they’ll do all in their power to surpass us in terms of nuclear weapons, ships, and space armaments. It’s a race, after all. Right now, there is a race. We’re behind, I’ll tell you that much. We need to get everyone up to speed and on the same page. That is the secret to winning the contest as a whole.
