France is shocked by the gruesome assassination of a 12-year-old girl, which has far-right immigration enraged.

PARIS — France has been “profoundly rocked” by the murder of a 12-year-old girl, whose body was discovered inside a plastic trunk. There have been claims that far-right MPs have politicized the case to criticize the government’s immigration policies.

According to a statement released by the Paris state prosecutor on Monday, the youngster, who has only been given the name Lola by the authorities, was last seen alive on security tape in her northeast Paris apartment building at 3:15 p.m. local time (9:15 a.m. ET) on Friday.

A gruesome detail in a case that has left France “profoundly disturbed, faced with the tragedy and the pain” was the writing of the numbers 0 and 1 on the bottom of each of the victims’ feet in red ink, according to The Associated Press.

According to the prosecutor’s statement, Lola’s autopsy found she had suffered from “cardio-respiratory failure with manifestation of suffocation,” and there were also indications of cervical compression.

The Paris state prosecutor announced Monday that a 24-year-old woman who was detained on suspicion of murder and rape of a juvenile, torture, acts of barbarism, and concealment of a corpse was apprehended on Saturday in a northeastern neighborhood of the city.

According to a statement from the prosecution, a 43-year-old man is also in arrest and is accused of aiding in the concealment of the girl’s body. Four more people have been let go without being charged.

The woman who was arrested was given permission to leave France on August 22nd, according to Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti, who reported before the National Assembly on Tuesday. He said that although the suspect was unknown to the police, she had experienced abuse firsthand.

She obtained a student visa in 2016, which has since expired, and then entered the country legally, according to Veran. She arrived in Paris’s Orly airport in August, but before they allowed her inside, they told her to leave France due to a problem with her immigration status, a government official said.

Since then, far-right politicians have criticized France’s centrist government and blamed it for the girl’s passing on immigration policy.

Once more, the perpetrator of this heinous crime shouldn’t have been in France. What are you holding out for to do to put an end to this unchecked illegal immigration? Tuesday saw a post from Marine Le Pen, who unsuccessfully ran for president a third time this year.

Later that day, French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne urged Le Pen to “display some decency and respect for the sadness of the family” in front of the French parliament.

In a tweet on Monday, Eric Zemmour, a notorious far-right figure who rose to prominence during last year’s presidential election before losing steam, branded the incident a “Francocide,” the deliberate killing of a French citizen.
