In 2024, six Ford Mustang race cars will be available.

Starting in 2024, Ford intends to sell no fewer than six distinct Mustang race cars.
The Mustang will be offered in a number of road and drag racing variations in addition to a modified NASCAR Cup Series vehicle.
2024 Mustang’s seventh generation debuts, and it isn’t even close to being an electric vehicle.

One of them, the 5.4-liter V8-powered Mustang GT3, will make its debut at the 2024 24 Hours of Daytona and compete in the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, where it will attempt to win the brand’s first class since the Ford GT won in 2016.

The Mustang GT3 will race at Daytona and Le Mans.

Le Mans means more to our history than any other race or track, according to Executive Chairman Bill Ford, who spoke at the Detroit Auto Show at the introduction of the 2018 Mustang. Ford famously defeated Ferrari at the circuit in 1966, the first of a string of four triumphs for Ford.

In addition, a Mustang Dark Horse R racing vehicle that is more suited to amateur and independent racers will be offered for lower-level sports car championships.


The Mustang Dark Horse R is a track-only car that can be raced in several series.

Ford will keep taking part in the Australian Supercars competition. One of the largest export markets for the Mustang is Australia, which is so crucial that Ford makes vehicles with right-hand drive configurations just for this country.

Ford will offer a factory-built Mustang with right-hand drive for Australia and other export markets.

There will be a straight-line drag racer built for the NHRA’s production-based Factory X class in addition to the oval and road course vehicles.

A Mustang drag car will be built for the NHRA Factory X class.

The production Mustang will be equipped with the most potent 5.0-liter V8 Ford has ever created, with the Mustang Dark Horse performance edition projected to deliver about 500 horsepower.
