how to use filters in Gmail
Consider filters as Gmail’s folder-alternative. Use them to star, archive, delete, or automatically forward your mail. You may even apply labels to individual messages.

This is the ideal technique to stop spammers in their tracks if you frequently receive unpleasant messages and spam. With the correct filters, you can eliminate the spam that slips through your spam filter.

In order to relocate everything from, example, your aunt who never stops sending you articles, to one specific location, filters can also be handy. Or use a filter to quickly discover what you need in messages from your HOA.

Filters can be set up in Gmail in a few different ways. The first is already in your inbox.

In the search bar at the top, click the Show search options icon. (It appears as three lines with dashes between them.) You may immediately construct a filter with any of the following parameters using the filter menu that will open:

Message sender and receiver (if you have multiple addresses)
The topics covered
Keywords used in the email’s body
How big the email was
Date of sending or receiving
Whether there is an attachment in the email

Type in your search parameters. By selecting Search, you can examine what emails come up to be sure your search was successful. Click Create filter at the search window’s bottom if everything appears to be in order.

When you build a filter, only newly received messages will be affected. The reply will only be screened if it matches the same search criteria when someone replies to a message you’ve already filtered.

Think of filters as Gmails alternative to folders. Use them to apply a label to messages, archive, delete, star, or automatically forward your mail.

How to add a Gmail filter to an existing message
From within a previously received email is another approach to construct a filter. As follows:
Launch Gmail .
Select the desired email by selecting the checkbox next to it, then click More (its a three-dot menu).
Click Messages like these will be filtered.
Add any further filter criteria here.
Then select Create filter.
How to change or remove filters in Gmail
You can alter or remove a filter you’ve set up if you don’t like it. As follows:
Click Settings (the cog icon) and then select See all settings in the upper right corner.
Select Filters and Blocked Addresses from the menu.
Locate the filter that needs to be changed.
To modify it or remove the filter, click Edit or Delete. After you’ve finished editing the filter, click Continue.
Either select Update Filter or OK.
Advice: Gmail filter suggestions
How should I utilize Google filters? Along with the points I’ve already made, there are a few more to think about.
Set significant coworkers’ messages in order of importance.
Keep all of your invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations in one location.
Star key items automatically to save order numbers, tracking numbers, and other details for later use.
Automatically forward messages or respond to specific messages using a pre-written template.
Instead of letting them accumulate in your inbox, send less important or bothersome messages to one location so you may read them whenever you want.
Your inbox is probably draining. One of the finest options for increasing productivity and reducing stress is to use filters.
