There are five instances in “Black Adam” that seem lifted directly from other superhero movies.

THE MAIN CHARACTERS KILL THEIR OPPONENTS IN A SCENE-STEALING SLOW-MOTION SCENE IN BOTH “BLACK ADAM” AND “X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.”

Yes, the superhero movies the Flash and other heroes gave us slowed-down scenes to depict how the world seems to them, but “X-Men: Days of Future Past” set the standard for a slow-mo hero sequence.

Quicksilver comically put on headphones and raced around a room in the Pentagon to save a young Magneto, Charles Xavier, and Wolverine from a spray of bullets in the 2014 movie.

In less than two minutes, Quicksilver removed every bullet with care while having fun with the security personnel by positioning them to punch each other or kill themselves. Everyone promptly collapsed to the ground as soon as he was done with his antics and time resumed as usual.

It’s one of the best scenes in all superhero movies, not just the best scene in that movie.

So it was a little tiresome to see one of “Black Adambest “‘s scenes execute a similar slow-motion technique, but with a more evil twist. The antihero has a chance to showcase his quick reflexes early on in the movie in a slow-motion scene matched to the song “Paint It Black.”

He kills his opponents on purpose rather than just playing around with some mercenary baddies while using his powers. A grenade is even put in one of their mouths. After the sequence in slow motion is finished, we see several mercenaries die.

Even while the moment was fun, it would have been cooler if it hadn’t appeared to be a reworked version of a better “X-Men” movie scene.
